Reconnect with Nature

[ connection ] Connecting to nature is an essential part of human well-being and is crucial in terms of taking care of both ourselves and the planet we live in.

We are nature.

I grew up 100 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, in Swedish Lapland, an area protected by the UNESCO: https://lnkd.in/dQVJbTBE

Nature Reserves were at my door step and indigenous people, the Sami ( of which my paternal grandfather originates ) around me. The forests, lakes and mountains were literally my playground.

As I grew older, I moved away, started studying and later moved abroad. However, there was always something in me that triggered the urge to go outside. It simply makes me feel good.

In my everyday life I weave in time, for example going jogging by the seaside early in the morning – when there are hardly any people outside! I I am also an advocate for outdoor education and a school without walls.

Nature provides us with a sense of calmness and tranquility that helps us connect to our inner selves. This self-awareness can lead to a better understanding of our needs and values, helping us handle stress better and strengthen our mental and emotional well-being.

After spending time outside I always feel more clear minded.

When we connect deeper with ourselves, we can also connect deeper with people around us and create healthier relationships.

We are nature. Modern society just lost some connection to that. When spending time in natural surroundings we realize our interconnectedness with the natural world. It makes us more conscious of our actions and their impact on the environment. We develop a sense of responsibility towards the planet, which motivates us to make environmentally conscious decisions and take care of nature. A child who spends a lot of time in nature will not hurt it.

The photo was from last weekend, in a nearby park. Nature is like a piece of art 🔆
